LEARN
“If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day. If you teach a man to fish, you feed him for a lifetime.”
Taking a kit, assembling and painting it is just the start of modelmaking there are so many techniques the modeller can learn and develop to take their model to the next level. Whether it is sculpting some stowage for your Tiger I or designing and 3D printing your own large scale model members of the North Devon Model Society can help you develop those skills.
We are fortunate in the North Devon Model Society to have members who are experienced and willing to share their knowledge in the following subjects.
AIRBRUSHING
CAD DESIGN
DECAL DESIGN
MACHINING
MOULD MAKING
PEWTER CASTING
PHOTOETCHING DESIGN
RESIN CASTING
FIGURE SCULPTING
VACUMN FORMING
WEATHERING TECHNIQUES
3D PRINTING
We are always learning new techniques as modellers. Especially as new materials and processes are being made available.
The North Devon Model Society runs monthly tutorials on various aspects of model making. This we call KNOWLEDGE SHARE.
Recent tutorials have included 3D printing, airbrushing basics, scribing, and vac form kits and we have plenty more to come.
These are presented by the members who have specialist skills and interests to share with the rest of the club.
KNOWLEDGE SHARE is always well attended so make sure you arrive early to get a seat and a space in the carpark.
Who knows, you may well have something to teach us. We are never too old to learn.
If you have a skill or interest to share speak to Peter or Sera on a club night, we would love to hear from you.
